"Oceania is at war with Eastasia, Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia."

- George Orwell, "1984"

In the middle of his book, "1984," George Orwell suddenly changes all reality and all history.  What we came to know as readers has been rendered false and a new set of facts have been asserted - this was quite normal on "Airstrip 1," and was never questioned.

We are living in a proto-Orwellian age.  An age where opinion is seen as fact and facts can be "alternative."  What, then is disappearing from us?  What are we losing?  When we cannot agree on the same reality, we run the risk of losing everything.

This is a cautionary tale.  In this body of work, I seek to illustrate this dissolving of reality.  With AI, deep fakes, crypto and NFTs, what in fact IS reality?  As history gets forgotten, culture becomes diluted or cancelled, facts become what I say they are and perceptions become layered over with politics and faith, what reality will we leave the future?

Fake science, fake identity, fake money, fake art - the new religion?
